The sky’s the limit
Keren started working at Dagesh around 1998, when she was just 21 years old. “When I arrived at Dagesh I was still a student,” she says. “For my first role I was the CEO’s secretary for a year, while studying for an Applied Engineering degree in Programming at Tel Aviv College.” A year later Keren was promoted to Account Manager, where she spent the next 13 years. “While serving in this role I got married, started a family and had two kids.”
Keren was then promoted to Sub-Contractor Manager in Acquisitions. “I took care of price quotes, suppliers, negotiations and other aspects for three years, and was then promoted to the senior role of Operation Manager at the Control Room.” She’s held this role for the past 9 years, supervising work planning at the Control Room and emphasizing the management of 30-employee division.
A primary intersection in the production process
The Control Room is a central intersection in the Dagesh Group’s production process. Every part that arrives at the company is first sent to the Control Room to undergo a series of tests using mechanical and manual measurements.
The Control Room performs mechanical tests using cameras, scanners and sophisticated examination tools along with manual tests to suits its mechanical sketches. Keren Yaakov explains: “The test is done with measuring machines. The CMM operator or quality manager performs CMM tests using new means, such as CREOFORM machines, GOM cameras, laser cameras and joystick-operated scanners, all taking pictures of the parts and producing an output which is then tested. Following the mechanical tests, our Quality Assurance people go over the part and manually compare it to its sketches.”
Finally, Keren prepares an internal supply chain plan using the computerized system. The plan details which machine the part is intended for, its measuring plans, etc.
Leading the way
As the Operations Manager at the Dagesh Group’s Control Branch, Keren is responsible for professionally and personally managing the division’s employees, planning tasks and balancing workloads, planning ongoing work as well as recruiting and training employees.
“Every new employee in Operations goes through several training stages,” says Keren. “The employees study a different machine at each step for the quality manager running it. Once they’ve mastered it, they move on to a different machine until they’re familiar with all machines and processes in the division.
“We mostly get young people out of Machine Engineering schools, without any experience, and we train them here. Sometimes there are candidates who have relevant skills or experience but lack the proper education, so we give them the opportunity to prove themselves in the field.”

“I love my role at the Group! I love the people, the location, the atmosphere, the warm and embracing attitude, and the fact that I’m constantly surrounded by good friends who also came into my personal life over the years. The Dagesh Group is first and foremost a family,” Keren says, and adds: “I’m still learning a lot, growing, developing and enriching my knowledge. I’m living proof that the Dagesh Group is the place to have a career.”
